Responsibilities
- Scope detection and response problems and support organizational strategy for moving left in the detection pipeline.
- Set technical direction, write comprehensive design documents, and lead design reviews for complex multi-quarter features.
- Define architectural direction and lead critical Detection AI workstreams end to end.
- Partner with cross-functional peers and sister software engineering teams to resolve architectural dependencies and align project timelines.
- Guide, mentor, and delegate tasks to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Build multi-agent systems, governance frameworks, evaluation pipelines, and observability dashboards for security AI.
- Operate enterprise platforms including Brief and Incident Communications for major Alphabet incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience building software for data privacy or security, such as identity and access management.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- At least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred experience with data structures and algorithms, security systems, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
- At least 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role is preferred.
- Preferred experience as a technical lead with a track record of leading teams and defining technical strategy in high-ambiguity environments.
