Responsibilities
- Design, develop, sustain, and modernize DOD tactical network systems and their software components.
- Provide lifecycle software engineering support for NAVWAR and NIWC customers.
- Analyze failure data, trouble reports, and fleet communications to identify deficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Develop, integrate, test, debug, and tune software solutions for customer requirements.
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend permanent configuration changes when needed.
- Create engineering documentation and manage solutions through formal configuration management processes.
- Support system installations, upgrades, distance support, and emergent onsite CASREP activities.
- Conduct peer reviews and collaborate with production engineers, consultants, agencies, and vendors on integration issues.
- Participate in technical meetings, IPTs, technical working groups, design reviews, presentations, and progress reporting.
- Lead development and deployment of source code across multiple classification levels and environments.
- Create low-level work products, estimate durations, and support scope and schedule development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years of experience, master's degree with 12 or more years, or PhD/JD with 9 or more years.
- Experience supporting DoD C4ISR systems in enterprise-level IT environments, including systems such as ISNS, CANES, ADNS, SCI Networks, CENTRIXS, ORT, and Flank Speed Wireless.
- At least four years of experience in a DevOps-based environment and familiarity with Agile practices.
- At least two years of experience with scripting, PowerShell automation, and XML development.
- At least two years of experience designing, analyzing, and supporting local area networks.
- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Flank Speed Edge cloud computing environments.
- Experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, PowerShell, Linux programming languages, and object-oriented web programming.
- Current IAT Level II compliance, including Security+ and an operating-system certification, or ability to obtain both within six months.
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance or higher are required at start.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship and shore networking systems and experience with Scrum methodologies are preferred.
