Responsibilities

  • Manage, process, and continuously improve spatial data from DCP GeoSupport and LION datasets.
  • Lead quarterly ETL ingestion into DOT SQL Server using Python, ArcPy, SQL scripts, GBAT validation, and ArcGIS Pro visual inspection.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate updated location-processing concepts across enterprise platforms.
  • Resolve legacy data issues and design supplemental data structures for evolving municipal business requirements.
  • Build internal and external map-focused applications on ESRI Enterprise Portal and ArcGIS Online.
  • Serve as the technical anchor for spatial data quality across interconnected DOT applications.

Requirements

  • Permanent service in the Computer Specialist (Software) title or reachability on open-competitive list Exam #5056 is required.
  • A bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field plus two years of qualifying software experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent plus six years of qualifying software experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • All candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory full-time software experience as a project leader or major contributor on a complex project.
  • A master's degree in computer science or a related computer field may substitute for one year of required experience, and college education may substitute for up to two years of experience under the stated rules.
  • Experience in software design, programming, debugging, maintenance, implementation, enhancement, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming is relevant; computer operations, technical support, QA, hardware installation, help desk, and end-user experience do not qualify.
  • Assignment Level IV additionally requires one year of project-leader or major-contributor experience in data administration, database management systems, operating systems, data communications systems, capacity planning, or online applications programming.
