Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, engineering, deployment, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of the global Versa SD-WAN platform.
- Engineer resilient WAN solutions using routing, security, segmentation, quality of service, high availability, and cloud and internet connectivity practices.
- Develop reusable network automation and infrastructure-as-code workflows for provisioning, configuration, validation, upgrades, and operations.
- Establish engineering guardrails including version control, peer review, automated testing, secure secrets handling, deployment approvals, and rollback procedures.
- Improve platform observability and reliability through analytics, telemetry, logging, dashboards, alerting, capacity analysis, and service-level measures.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex WAN, application performance, routing, carrier, and automation issues.
- Create architecture standards, designs, reusable code modules, support documentation, runbooks, and production transition plans.
- Provide technical leadership, remove delivery roadblocks, mentor engineers, and promote Network DevOps and software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of experience in network engineering, network automation, DevOps, platform engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience supporting enterprise WAN or SD-WAN environments and strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VPN technologies, network security, and high-availability design.
- Experience developing network automation with Python, Git-based workflows, REST APIs, and tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Preferred: five or more years designing, automating, and supporting network platforms in large, globally distributed enterprises.
- Preferred: experience with Versa Networks SD-WAN or comparable enterprise SD-WAN platforms.
- Preferred: deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, IPsec, quality of service, VRFs, segmentation, NAT, DNS, DHCP, firewall policy, and resilient network design.
- Preferred: experience building CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure with automated testing, code quality checks, approval controls, and rollback.
- Preferred: experience creating automation services and integrations using Python, FastAPI, Go, JavaScript, REST APIs, JSON, and YAML.
- Preferred: experience with automated network testing and validation frameworks such as pytest, pyATS, or Batfish.
- Preferred: experience with network observability and performance management using Datadog, Versa analytics, SNMP, syslog, streaming telemetry, dashboards, and event correlation.
- Preferred: experience with cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including secure, multi-region, highly available architectures.
