Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of complex cloud-native platform components and services through production operation.
- Act as technical lead for major features and initiatives, translating ambiguous problems into scalable designs.
- Develop Kubernetes operators, controllers, infrastructure automation, and platform services using Go.
- Own platform capabilities through deployment, upgrades, reliability, observability, and operational support.
- Identify and resolve technical risks involving scalability, operability, security, and engineering excellence.
- Drive architectural reviews, technical proposals, and cross-functional technical strategy.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.
- Explore AI-powered tooling, automated operational workflows, and agentic systems for infrastructure visibility and operations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native platforms in production.
- Demonstrated experience building and operating Kubernetes platform infrastructure at scale in both managed and self-managed environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes Operators, Admission Controllers, Custom Resource Definitions, Kubebuilder, Operator Framework, or similar technologies.
- Strong Go software engineering experience developing Kubernetes operators, controllers, and platform automation.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration, scheduling, security, storage, networking, and workload management.
- Experience operating stateful and distributed workloads, cloud-native databases, large-scale data infrastructure, or mission-critical platform components on Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP compute, networking, security, and identity services.
- Strong background in microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed application architectures.
- Experience owning technical initiatives from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and operational support.
- Hands-on experience with containers, CI/CD, GitOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane.
- Experience implementing observability and reliability practices involving metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting, and service-level objectives.
- Experience with distributed-system replication, fault tolerance, high availability, scalable ingestion and transformation workflows, and data formats such as Parquet, ORC, and Avro.
- Preferred experience includes container networking, service mesh, mTLS, workload identity, secrets management, distributed data or compute workloads, Apache Kafka, and Redis.
- Ability to integrate AI into engineering and platform work, including AI-powered tooling, automated operational workflows, or agentic infrastructure systems.
