Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure for machine learning models.
- Design, implement, and support data-processing software, compute frameworks, analysis tooling, and model implementations.
- Train, develop, and validate researcher-built or vendor-provided machine learning algorithms on hospital data.
- Make technical design and interface decisions for data-processing and analysis pipelines, including selections of languages, tools, and platforms.
- Troubleshoot and debug infrastructure and environment problems across production and non-production systems.
- Coordinate server and system maintenance with Stanford Health Care and Technology and Digital Solutions teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and enforce code-quality best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building data infrastructure for analytics teams.
- Ability to write SQL, R, or Python for processing large datasets in distributed cloud environments.
- Experience with cloud deployment strategies, data infrastructure in a SaaS environment, and machine learning operations processes.
- Knowledge of multiple programming languages and resource-management or automation approaches such as workflow runners.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and enforcing code-quality best practices.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to learn new programming languages as needed.
