Base Salary

$130k - $180k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through direct implementation and recommendations to other teams
  • Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements
  • Implement and promote secure coding practices, SAST, DAST, and threat modeling throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with software engineers on requirements, hardware-software integration, troubleshooting, and major system fixes
  • Partner with teams on software requirements, system design, and integration strategies
  • Review and guide software development for ITAR-controlled payloads in accordance with export laws and company rules
  • Ensure software work and outputs meet U.S. Government standards and ITAR regulations
  • Control access to sensitive technical data and handle ITAR systems in compliance with applicable requirements
  • Create and update design specifications, test plans, verification steps, and reports for government contracts and ITAR compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline, or 2+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with at least one software development language, such as Python, C++, or Rust
  • Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or other enterprise- or large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience contributing security improvements to complex systems
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols, including the TCP/IP stack and UDP-based protocols
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracts, government standards, and procurement processes is preferred
  • Deep knowledge and practical experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations is preferred
  • Experience with software version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex software-hardware integration issues
  • Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance
  • Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
