Base Salary
$176k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of engineering needs across the organization.
- Set the technical vision and long-term roadmap for core platform services.
- Own the design, development, and evolution of foundational platform primitives.
- Lead cross-team initiatives to improve availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Identify systemic gaps and architectural bottlenecks, delivering solutions.
- Leverage technologies such as Python, Go, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Champion best practices including technical design review and defensive programming.
- Drive cost-optimization efforts across the platform.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to raise technical quality.
- Participate in and help evolve on-call practices.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep, hands-on experience developing production software in Python and/or Go.
- Extensive experience in cloud-native environments and infrastructure as code.
- Fundamental understanding of Linux and networking stack.
- Proven ability to independently own complex, cross-team platform initiatives.
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills for writing technical design docs and RFCs.
- Comfortable handling complex systems in outage situations.
