Responsibilities
- Design and build security primitives and services protecting MongoDB Atlas compute, networking, and identity across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Build secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security mechanisms, Kubernetes, and eBPF for runtime policy enforcement and system visibility.
- Develop APIs, automation, and tooling for security posture management, vulnerability management, workload identity, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD and Terraform infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Lead complex security projects from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and long-term ownership.
- Collaborate with SRE, platform, and product engineering teams to define secure architectures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or similar roles, preferably with relevant security experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, Golang, Rust, Python, or C/C++, plus experience with Terraform.
- Deep understanding of Linux and networking concepts and their interaction in complex systems.
- Experience building security features or platforms such as runtime monitoring, CSPM, or vulnerability management.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and their security best practices and building blocks.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and security technologies such as RBAC, OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno, eBPF, Falco, or Tetragon.
- Systems-oriented approach covering failure modes, performance, observability, operability, security, and correctness.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex security concepts and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
