Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable observability tools and platforms.
- Integrate observability practices into the software development lifecycle to improve system transparency and reliability.
- Lead the creation and adoption of standardized observability frameworks.
- Design, implement, and refine pipelines that collect, aggregate, and normalize telemetry data.
- Promote best practices for code instrumentation and high-quality monitoring data collection.
- Contribute to a service inventory that tracks changes and impacts for operational decision-making.
- Share knowledge and promote innovation and excellence in observability.
Requirements
- Have a solid software engineering background with a focus on observability and monitoring distributed systems.
- Have experience with at least one major cloud provider.
- Have experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Sentry, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform.
- Be comfortable working with Linux systems and the shell.
- Have developed or adopted libraries that integrate with observability tools.
- Have coding skills in relevant languages such as PHP, Java, Python, or Go.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Prior experience with data analytics and data pipelines is a bonus.
