Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems for regulatory and risk needs.
- Build and deploy proprietary, cloud-based risk management solutions powered by AI technology.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams by establishing standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks with architects.
- Refactor systems, reduce technical debt, and improve performance in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience, excluding internships.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, cloud platforms, open-source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, using AI-based coding tools, observability, mentoring engineers, leading cross-functional initiatives, and enforcing coding standards and design patterns.

- Annual base salary is location-dependent: McLean, VA $197,300-$225,100 and Richmond, VA $179,400-$204,700.
- The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
