Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with systems and software engineers to define verification and validation scope.
  • Analyze requirements and develop test plans, strategies, cases, and procedures with requirements traceability.
  • Design and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and release validation tests.
  • Establish laboratory test environments and test benches and identify required hardware.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, protocol, and test setup issues and support root cause analysis.
  • Execute testing of RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, Modbus, and RF interfaces.
  • Use protocol analyzers, packet sniffers, serial analyzers, and debugging tools for protocol verification.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar tools.
  • Log, analyze, track, and verify software defects through closure.
  • Prepare test reports and objective verification and validation evidence.
  • Participate in technical reviews, quality improvements, process compliance, and testability initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on testing methodologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Academic performance of at least 70%.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Software Verification & Validation, Software Testing, or System Validation.
  • Experience in railway, locomotive, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or another safety-critical domain.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Software Testing Life Cycle.
  • Experience with requirements-based testing and defect management processes.
  • Familiarity with software test design methodologies and verification techniques.
  • Experience with requirements and test management tools such as DOORS, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM/CLM), IBM Quality Manager, ALM, or equivalent tools.
  • Working knowledge of user interface testing and system-level validation.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with communication protocols and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and automated test execution environments.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and support team growth; cybersecurity testing and secure communication validation experience is an added advantage.
