Base Salary

$176k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to software engineers, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
  • Apply Software Development Life Cycle toolchain automation and AI-assisted development capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
  • Make decisions influencing product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
  • Develop and deploy Java applications using AWS, ECS, EKS, and Postgres.
  • Support multi-region service deployments, zero-downtime deployments, and operational stability.
  • Build dashboards using Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
  • Use AI agents including CoPilot and Claude to improve software quality and delivery timelines.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience developing and deploying Java-based applications in AWS, ECS, EKS, and Postgres.
  • Advanced Java programming skills.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls.
  • Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Practical cloud-native experience and AWS automation experience.
  • Strong leadership experience with software engineers at varying levels.
  • Experience with multi-region service deployments and zero-downtime deployment.
  • Preferred AWS certification(s) and AI certification(s).
