Responsibilities
- Own QA for Shopify theme releases and new storefront features before launch.
- Create test plans, checklists, and regression coverage for storefront functionality.
- Test across browsers and devices, including mobile, checkout flows, and conversion paths.
- Perform accessibility testing covering keyboard navigation, screen readers, color contrast, and form labeling.
- Write clear, reproducible bug reports and verify fixes.
- Identify repetitive manual QA work and build automation to replace it.
- Complete Shopify development tickets involving content, settings, theme fixes, and small features.
- Work within Git and pull request workflows alongside developers.
- Document testing processes so they are repeatable.
- Maintain and improve application code, monitoring, production support, and automation workflows where applicable.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on Shopify experience at an agency or brand operating on Shopify.
- A portfolio of Shopify work that can be shared.
- Solid understanding of Shopify themes, including Liquid, sections, templates, theme settings, and the Shopify admin.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Liquid, JavaScript, and TypeScript, plus familiarity with Stimulus or Alpine.js.
- Hands-on QA experience creating test plans, running regression tests, and filing bugs.
- Experience with at least one test automation tool, such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience using AI tools to automate testing or other workflows, with a project or example to share.
- Comfort with Git and pull requests.
- Hands-on accessibility testing experience and working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and tools such as axe, WAVE, or a screen reader.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and willingness to learn.
- Shopify Plus experience is preferred.
- CI/CD experience, such as GitHub Actions, is preferred.
- Visual regression testing experience is preferred.
- Performance testing experience, such as Lighthouse, is preferred.
- Shopify CLI or Shopify Admin API experience is preferred.
