Base Salary
$153k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and product development, articulating technical constraints and evaluating risks and trade-offs.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Support the operation and availability of platform artifacts through metrics, monitoring, escalation, and on-call efforts.
- Establish and improve code review and design standards, and advocate for engineering quality through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leadership by example.
- Build and improve feature creation, exploration, serving, storage, visibility, and offline backfilling platform capabilities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with backend programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.
- Ability to define technical plans and design significant features or system components that are elegant, simple, and extensible.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in a large codebase using appropriate tools and practices.
- Strong ownership of professional growth and demonstrated ability to seek and use feedback.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
