Responsibilities
- Define test strategies and CI quality gates for platforms, runbooks, agents, and AI-augmented components.
- Build and maintain reusable test automation frameworks, evaluation harnesses, contract tests, chaos tests, and resilience tests.
- Own CI/CD quality stages including static analysis, security scanning, coverage thresholds, performance regression checks, and gating policies.
- Engineer pre-production environments, synthetic traffic, data masking, replay harnesses, and production-like validation workflows.
- Instrument and monitor quality signals using OpenTelemetry, Splunk or equivalent, dashboards, queries, synthetic probes, and SLO validation.
- Produce traceable, repeatable, signed, and change-controlled test evidence for regulated environments.
- Coach and mentor engineers, act as the named quality-engineering owner, and provide consulting guidance across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience, including at least five years in test engineering, SDET, or quality engineering roles owning automation frameworks and CI quality gates.
- Hands-on Python experience plus at least one of Java, TypeScript, or Go.
- Deep hands-on experience with at least two major test automation stacks, such as pytest, Playwright, Selenium, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, schemathesis, Locust, or k6.
- Strong CI/CD engineering experience authoring pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent.
- Experience with Splunk or equivalent, ServiceNow or equivalent, Terraform, a major public cloud such as AWS, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with shift-left practices, design reviews, contract-first development, test-driven or behavior-driven development, and quality-gate design.
- Experience in regulated or audited environments such as GxP, SOX, HIPAA, or PCI, including audit evidence and validated-system constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering field.
- Preferred qualifications include testing AI-augmented or agentic systems, chaos and resilience testing, computer system validation, performance and load engineering, mentoring, and relevant certifications.
