Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Professional Services
CloudflareResponsibilities
- Embed as a trusted technical member of customer teams and follow their change-management processes for hands-on modifications.
- Design, configure, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot Cloudflare solutions in customer environments.
- Build prototypes and automation scripts and make architectural decisions for mission-critical infrastructure.
- Create solution designs, HLDs, LLDs, databuilds, procedures, test plans, deployment plans, migration plans, and as-built documentation.
- Provide architectural guidance, roadmap alignment, and best-practice recommendations.
- Lead technical workshops, knowledge-transfer sessions, security drills, product-launch preparation, and quarterly business reviews.
- Document decisions, runbooks, and configurations to support continuity and handoff.
- Represent customer needs within Cloudflare by surfacing product gaps, feature requests, and escalations.
- Partner with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Customer Success Managers, Delivery Leaders, Engineering, Support, and Product on account strategy and expansion opportunities.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to service methodologies, best practices, and reusable assets.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.
- Recognized expertise leading complex, enterprise-scale engagements in applications, networking, Zero Trust/SASE, or leadership and mentorship.
- Expert-level understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, and HTTP.
- Ability to implement, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot complex solutions, with infrastructure-as-code and scripting experience highly desirable.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, scope and estimate complex engagements, and work in ambiguous or fast-moving environments.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and executive audiences.
- Experience with enterprise customers in APJC, ideally Korea, including regional compliance, business culture, and technical ecosystems.
- Preferred experience includes regulated industries, legacy migrations, Cloudflare products, and enterprise change-management processes.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CCIE, AWS, GCP, or Azure certifications, or equivalent.
