Base Salary

$144k - $162k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance Java/J2EE backend applications for the thinkorswim mobile platform.
  • Contribute to system architecture, design discussions, and technical direction.
  • Build and maintain reliable, secure, scalable, and high-performance applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Use operational insights and metrics to guide technical decisions and outcomes.
  • Design APIs or shared frameworks used by multiple teams.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams, product partners, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience designing and developing Java/J2EE applications across client- and server-side environments.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, distributed systems, real-time processing, and relational databases.
  • Experience building and maintaining backend applications focused on reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Hands-on experience with Java frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional influence skills.
  • Experience with concurrency, multithreaded low-latency systems, Java performance tuning, garbage collection, and high-throughput application scaling is preferred.
  • Experience designing APIs or shared frameworks, CI/CD and automation tooling, modern build pipelines, cloud platforms including Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and mentoring engineers is preferred.
