Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and deliver scalable, resilient client data applications using Java, Spring, cloud technologies, APIs, event-driven architectures, batch processing, and messaging.
- Evaluate business and technical needs, identify solution options, and develop practical solutions for complex technology challenges.
- Modernize legacy platforms and support cloud-based distributed architectures and critical production environments.
- Ensure solutions meet scalability, performance, security, compliance, and operational-readiness expectations.
- Create delivery roadmaps, manage dependencies, and drive execution against strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, cross-functional stakeholders, and globally distributed teams.
- Lead through influence, mentor engineers, coach technical teams, and promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Use generative AI coding assistants across design, development, testing, code reviews, automation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Requirements
- 6+ years developing enterprise applications with Java, Spring Framework, cloud technologies, and web services in high-volume, highly available environments.
- Experience using generative AI coding assistants and tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code within the software development lifecycle.
- 2+ years of experience with Spring Batch, Spring Cloud Data Flow, or comparable batch-processing solutions.
- 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, Aerospike, or other cloud-compatible relational database technologies.
- 3+ years supporting CI/CD practices and cloud-based application deployments.
- 3+ years using source-control and build-automation tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or Bamboo.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or comparable cloud platforms.
- 3+ years of experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with test-driven development, quality engineering, automated testing, and continuous improvement practices.
- 5+ years communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders and leading discussions across diverse audiences.
- At least 1 year of Schwab technology-domain experience as a current or recent contractor or employee.
- Preferred qualifications include Python development, Atlassian tools, financial-services experience, Agile environments, technology transformation, legacy modernization, architecture documentation, production and deployment analysis, and prior technical-team leadership.
- Ability to analyze complex challenges, evaluate alternatives, identify risks, make decisions, collaborate effectively, and translate complex technical concepts into actionable outcomes.
