Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, and implement software solutions for new applications and modifications to existing platform components.
- Participate in all phases of the agency's enterprise performance life cycle and produce required lifecycle artifacts for releases.
- Perform software fixes and minor enhancements of under 200 hours against the operations and maintenance backlog.
- Develop and modify Java, PL/SQL, application programming interface, and user-interface components.
- Execute unit and integration testing, support regression and Section 508 accessibility testing, and remediate defects.
- Prepare release packages and support coordinated major, minor, and emergency releases with government data center and cloud teams.
- Collaborate with business analysts, database specialists, and quality assurance analysts to verify that software meets documented requirements.
- Track and report defects in the government-approved defect tracking application.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, with an additional two years of directly relevant software development experience accepted in place of the degree.
- At least three years of professional software development experience; the contract labor category typically requires two to four years.
- Hands-on Java development experience using a modern Java Development Kit and an enterprise Java framework.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful application programming interfaces.
- Experience writing and executing unit and integration tests and remediating defects through a formal defect tracking process.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL or PL/SQL.
- Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Jakarta EE.
- Front-end development experience with Angular, PrimeFaces, or PrimeNG.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Solr, or Apache PDFBox.
- Prior federal software development experience under a formal lifecycle governance process.
- Familiarity with Appian or another low-code business process management platform.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk (Tier 2) Public Trust background investigation and a government PIV credential.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
