Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable back-end systems and microservices for the Rocket Growth marketplace.
- Own new features focused on platform scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility, and performance.
- Design, build, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in production.
- Establish architecture paradigms, API standards, and technical strategy across multiple engineering teams.
- Lead major technical turnarounds such as zero-downtime database migrations, legacy modernization, or infrastructure cost optimization.
- Develop observability and reliability practices, including distributed tracing, chaos engineering, and incident management leadership.
- Mentor engineers and help grow Senior engineers into Lead or Staff roles.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience focused on large-scale back-end systems and microservices architectures.
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems with strict availability and durability SLAs and SLOs.
- Deep technical mastery of at least one modern back-end language, such as Go, Java, Python, C++, or Rust.
- Strong proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and non-relational databases such as Cassandra, Redis, and DynamoDB.
- Experience establishing architecture paradigms, API standards including REST, gRPC, and GraphQL, and technical strategy across multiple engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred expertise in event-driven architectures and distributed messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pulsar.
- Preferred experience with distributed tracing, OpenTelemetry, chaos engineering, incident management leadership, major technical turnarounds, and technical mentorship.
