Responsibilities
- Take operational problems from concept to production across React/TypeScript frontend and Go backend services.
- Build secure client-facing interfaces with per-client isolation, least-privilege access, and Auth0 integrations.
- Expand Upfront’s operational capabilities across Upvest’s internal domains and understand how core systems interact.
- Improve AI-enabled software delivery workflows while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Design agentic operations exposed over MCP with strict audit trails and clear boundaries between autonomous and human-approved actions.
- Work in weekly delivery cycles with bi-weekly retrospectives and prioritize high-quality, frequent shipping.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a strong product engineering mindset and proactively contribute product ideas.
- Have solid backend experience in Go, Java, or Kotlin; Upvest primarily builds in Go and supports ramp-up.
- Have practical experience building modern client-facing interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Have built products requiring per-customer configuration without creating custom forks for each client.
- Have deep knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Prioritize quality, extensibility, and automated testing.
- Own work end to end across containers, CI/CD pipelines, and relational data modeling.
- Understand event-driven architectures and make pragmatic engineering tradeoffs.
- Have real-world experience using AI tools in software engineering workflows.
- Be able to navigate undefined problems and align teams without formal authority.
- Preferred experience includes investment products or fintech, operational or back-office tooling, Auth0 or multi-tenant isolation, and operating decoupled event-driven services with monitoring and tracing.
