Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production backend services and user-facing applications for the merchant experience.
- Develop APIs, data models, services, and user-facing features across areas such as onboarding, analytics, recommendations, menu and order management, integrations, and merchant tools.
- Own features from implementation through production deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, operations, data teams, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and improve system quality, scalability, observability, and maintainability.
- Use AI-assisted development tools critically and take ownership of the final engineering solutions.
- Work across frontend and backend boundaries to solve problems end to end.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and delivering production software in backend, frontend, or fullstack environments at scale.
- Strong expertise in at least one part of the software stack and willingness to contribute outside that area.
- Experience with a modern backend language such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or similar, and/or frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React.
- Good understanding of APIs, databases, testing, and software design fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently on well-scoped problems and collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, collaborative mindset.
- Experience with merchant-facing or internal operational tools, analytics, recommendations, decisioning systems, external business integrations, streaming technologies, or cloud infrastructure is a plus.
