Responsibilities

  • Build declarative, CRD-driven automation for bare-metal networking, operating systems, and application software across large clusters.
  • Develop push-button cluster installation, upgrades, and security patching using canaries and downtime budgets.
  • Build Kubernetes operators for inference workload scheduling, resource locks, priority queues, network topology, and health-aware placement.
  • Develop gRPC control-plane services, authorization, admission webhooks, and quota policies for a multi-tenant fleet.
  • Build metrics and log pipelines and exporters for wafer-scale systems, servers, and network fabric, with SLOs and alerting.
  • Implement failure detection, highly available control planes, automated recovery, and CLIs, APIs, and an MCP gateway for fleet access.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and operating production distributed systems or infrastructure software.
  • Production-quality experience with Go and Python.
  • Deep Kubernetes experience, including controllers, operators, CRDs, reconciliation semantics, informer caches, admission webhooks, and RBAC.
  • Strong debugging skills across distributed systems, Linux, and networking.
  • Practitioner-level Prometheus and Grafana experience, including PromQL, exporter design, cardinality discipline, and useful alerts.
  • Ability to work independently in a large, fast-moving, incompletely documented environment and drive work across team boundaries.
  • Demonstrated use of AI coding agents with the judgment to verify their output.
  • Preferred experience includes bare-metal or HPC fleet operations, scheduler internals, RDMA/RoCE, eBPF networking, Ceph, NVMe-oF, etcd and HA upgrades, or inference serving stacks; ML research experience is not required.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on a breakthrough AI platform and one of the fastest AI supercomputers.
  • Opportunities to publish and open source cutting-edge AI research.
  • Job stability with startup vitality and a simple, non-corporate work culture.
  • Cerebras is committed to an equal and diverse work environment with continuous learning, growth, and support.
