Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications for Salesforce Marketing, Commerce, Sales, Big Data, Service, Einstein, MuleSoft, Platform, Industries, Slack, and Heroku products.
- Design, implement, and tune robust APIs and API framework features for scalable multi-tenant environments.
- Handle large data sets in cloud environments and integrate internal and external systems.
- Build and ship high-quality production software using testing, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
- Use AI development tools and advanced prompt engineering to produce secure, optimized, reliable code.
- Design systems in which AI agents integrate into human workflows and maintain shared system context.
- Review human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Participate in the team on-call rotation to resolve complex problems and maintain service availability.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- 10+ years of backend software development experience is required.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming languages including Java, C++, Go, C#, Ruby, Scala, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript.
- Broad knowledge of API-related web standards and experience with REST, SOAP, XML, WSDL, HTTP, and JSON.
- Experience with Spring, gRPC, REST, and the HTTP protocol.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Alibaba, or Azure.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude, or OpenAI API.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to build reliable system context for AI outputs.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and test-driven development practices.
- For Big Data roles, experience with Phoenix, HBase, MapReduce, Yarn, Kafka, Spark, Hive, Presto, or equivalent large-scale distributed systems technologies.
