Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Produce extensible, maintainable, and scalable code while leading by example.
- Drive dependency identification, design documentation, architecture proposals, and cross-team coordination.
- Lead system and service integration across teams and influence solution architecture.
- Initiate experiments to evaluate technologies and identify best-fit solutions.
- Embed monitoring, live-site readiness, incident response, and operational excellence into development.
- Promote clean code, modern engineering practices, and continuous improvement.
- Improve developer tools and automation to increase team productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Recent backend engineering and software deployment experience is preferred.
- Experience in high-security, regulated, or cloud environments is preferred.
- Citizenship must be verified with a valid passport because of citizenship-based legal restrictions.
- Successful candidates must pass Microsoft and Microsoft Cloud background checks upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
Benefits
- Typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of USD $160,200–$261,000 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position will remain open for at least five days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
