Responsibilities
- Build and operate scalable, reliable data systems and batch or streaming pipelines from ingestion through modeling and visualization.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end data products, data models, transformations, and the infrastructure supporting reporting and business use cases.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, orchestration, and shared developer tooling for data products across environments.
- Improve the security, compliance, observability, reliability, performance, and cost posture of the data stack, including IAM and secrets management.
- Partner with product stakeholders and other teams to define requirements, make architectural decisions, and improve data platform processes.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 6+ years of data engineering experience.
- Strong Python and SQL skills and experience designing and operating scalable batch or streaming data pipelines.
- Experience with data orchestration and technologies such as Dagster, Airflow, Luigi, dbt, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, or Databricks.
- Experience with AWS, cloud-based application development, modern data warehouses, and data platform integration methods such as APIs, CDC, batch ingestion, and streaming.
- Experience with collaboration and integration tools such as GitHub, Argo, or Jenkins, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience designing data models and transformations in a data warehouse and building self-service tooling.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, explain technical concepts clearly, mentor engineers, and take ownership of architecture, quality, and process improvements.
