Base Salary
$185k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, test, and maintain scalable software components and applications for Audible.
- Own critical audio advertising infrastructure, real-time ad-serving pipelines, and conversational AI integrations.
- Optimize ad-serving latency, cost, performance, and business metrics at large scale.
- Collaborate with Product, Applied Science, and engineering teams to define and deliver advertising products.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, clarify requirements, estimate development work, and select appropriate design approaches.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote software quality and maintainability.
- Mentor and lead developers while fostering technical growth and understanding.
- Apply data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems design to challenging engineering problems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
- Preferred: experience with machine learning and related engineering skills.
- Preferred: full-stack proficiency with Java, NoSQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Node.js.
