Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, implementation, and delivery of complex, scalable, and resilient full-stack applications.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, coaching, work allocation, and code reviews for developers and analysts.
- Develop backend services with Java and user interfaces with React or Angular.
- Design and build scalable APIs using RESTful services and GraphQL.
- Design real-time, event-driven data-processing solutions using Apache Kafka.
- Implement containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
- Establish application development standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Partner with management teams and business stakeholders to define system enhancements and technical solutions.
- Evaluate complex business processes and system flows, resolve high-impact problems, and manage technology risks and compliance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis, including technical leadership experience.
- Deep full-stack development expertise across backend and frontend technologies.
- Expert-level Java proficiency, including experience with Spring Boot.
- Strong experience designing and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Hands-on experience with React or Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Proven Apache Kafka experience building event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Leadership, project management, communication, adaptability, and complex technical problem-solving skills.
- Deep subject matter expertise in at least one core applications-development area and understanding of business, architecture, and infrastructure integration.
- FinTech or large financial-institution experience is preferred.
- Investor Services experience in Custody, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, or Asset Servicing is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure is preferred.
- A bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience, is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
