Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, troubleshoot, and maintain software components for secure, stable, and scalable technology products.
- Write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance.
- Consider upstream and downstream systems and technical implications when developing solutions.
- Use software development lifecycle tools, automation, and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development capabilities.
- Apply technical troubleshooting to identify and solve problems of basic complexity.
- Gather and analyze large, diverse data sets to identify problems and support decision-making.
- Validate AI-generated code and documentation through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Apply system processes, methodologies, and skills across the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience with AWS, Terraform, and Python.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database query languages.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- Exposure to CI/CD, application resiliency, and security practices.
- Preferred: full-stack Java enterprise application development experience.
- Preferred: at least two years of experience with Java 17 or later.
- Preferred: experience developing microservices packaged into AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service or Elastic Container Service and deployed to EC2.
- Preferred: experience writing Terraform scripts and deploying in an AWS production environment.
- Preferred: experience with a relational database management system, preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL.
