Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, stable, and scalable software applications.
- Write high-quality code in Java, Python, or another modern programming language with limited guidance.
- Consider upstream and downstream systems and technical implications when designing and developing solutions.
- Use software development lifecycle tools, automation, and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development capabilities to improve delivery and productivity.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
- Validate and refine AI-generated code, tests, troubleshooting outputs, and documentation through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Apply responsible AI practices, including data sensitivity awareness and secure handling of inputs and outputs, and guide peers on safe usage.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Hands-on experience with Python and Java.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- Exposure to application resiliency, security, and software development automation practices.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: familiarity with modern front-end technologies and exposure to cloud technologies.
