Base Salary

$120k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate distributed services and microservices on Azure for catalog, search, purchase, fulfillment, metering, and billing experiences.
  • Own features through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and live-site support.
  • Contribute to platform capabilities for offer publishing, catalog, search, purchase, fulfillment, metering, and billing.
  • Integrate AI capabilities including natural language processing, semantic search, and intelligent agents.
  • Improve performance, scalability, telemetry, asynchronous I/O, system profiling, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement data validation and schema enforcement while supporting privacy and security compliance.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, define technical requirements, review designs, and deliver production-grade software.
  • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, resolve incidents, and drive root-cause fixes.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, telemetry, and safe deployment practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and other applicable Microsoft, customer, or government security screening requirements.
  • Experience with software engineering, preferably in cloud-scale or AI-enhanced services.
  • Proficiency in C#, Python, or JavaScript and familiarity with Azure or AWS.
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs and working with relational or NoSQL data stores.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and debugging.
  • Experience with AI development tools, OpenAI APIs, transformers, semantic search, LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, or fine-tuning.
  • Understanding of GitHub workflows and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience leading design efforts and delivering production-grade solutions.
  • Experience building or operating large-scale cloud services on Azure or another major cloud.
  • Familiarity with commerce, billing, marketplace, or storefront systems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, or high-throughput data pipelines.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, incident response, postmortems, design documentation, and customer-facing release notes.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position is open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
