Base Salary
$196k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Co-develop prototypes with data scientists to explore data models, identify open questions, and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Choose implementation approaches that balance development speed and prototype realism.
- Build APIs that provide backend data for internal and shared prototypes.
- Guide data scientists in creating prototypes that address open questions and demonstrate proposed solutions.
- Create custom interactions, novel user interface components, and effective data visualizations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in a hands-on web development role, particularly front-end development.
- Strong understanding of data visualization fundamentals.
- Expertise with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and low-level data visualization frameworks such as d3, visx, or WebGL.
- Experience building custom interactions and novel user interface components.
- Strong communication skills and experience working closely with data scientists and/or ML engineers.
- Prior experience in a prototyping role is a bonus.
