Responsibilities
- Own the design, evolution, and quality of mission-critical scheduling microservices.
- Lead technical discovery, write and socialize ADRs, run design reviews, and align architectural decisions across teams.
- Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS services and define infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Improve reliability through observability, performance engineering, secure PII-free logging, and incident postmortems.
- Mentor and develop engineers through pairing, roadmap shaping, documentation, and technical leadership.
- Collaborate with Product, SRE, Data, and InfoSec to deliver secure, scalable APIs and event flows.
- Drive incremental modernization from legacy systems to event-driven architecture and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
- Design CI/CD pipelines with testing, static analysis, vulnerability scanning, and performance testing.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of backend engineering experience, including 1–3+ years leading projects or squads delivering complex distributed systems at scale.
- Mastery of Java and Spring Boot, including concurrency, resilience patterns, profiling, and robust testing.
- Hands-on expertise with DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/FIFO, and IAM roles and policies.
- Strong Terraform experience and a focus on repeatable, auditable infrastructure.
- Advanced Dockerfile skills and working knowledge of Kubernetes tuning and operations.
- Experience designing Jenkins or GitLab CI pipelines with functional tests, static analysis, vulnerability scanning, and performance testing.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, diagramming, stakeholder alignment, accountability, and cross-team influence.
- Preferred qualifications include leading monolith-to-event-driven modernization, advanced Kubernetes experience, financial or regulated-industry experience, and experience with Microsoft Graph API, Microsoft Bookings, Microsoft RBAC, or Salesforce integration.
