Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data scrapers and ingestion pipelines for government data sources.
- Research sources and develop extraction approaches using internal tooling and AI agents.
- Validate data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.
- Monitor existing sources, investigate failures or source changes, and improve scraper resilience.
- Document source behavior, extraction logic, and data-quality checks.
- Support other technical and operational work across the company as needed.
Requirements
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Python experience is valuable for data collection and analysis.
- Familiarity with web scraping or browser automation using BeautifulSoup, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Comfort working with HTML, APIs, structured and unstructured data, JSON, and CSV.
- Familiarity with Git, debugging, and clear technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, technical curiosity, and an ownership mindset for data quality.
- Interest in using AI agents while carefully validating their output.
- Curiosity about public-sector data and persistence when working with inconsistent websites and source formats.
