Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for analytics, dashboards, visualizations, and AI-generated insights.
- Process, aggregate, enrich, and serve structured and unstructured data for interactive analytics experiences.
- Develop APIs and data services for dashboards, visualizations, reporting interfaces, and customer-facing applications.
- Build backend capabilities supporting AI-generated summaries, recommendations, trends, anomalies, and dynamic data exploration.
- Collaborate with frontend, AI/ML, data engineering, UX, product, DevOps, and platform teams on technical solutions and integrations.
- Design data models, processing workflows, caching strategies, integrations, and reliable data flows across source systems and downstream applications.
- Optimize data access, aggregation, service performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Implement production monitoring, logging, testing, and observability; troubleshoot complex backend and analytics issues.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated backend application and service development.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages and associated frameworks.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, or other service-oriented applications.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and applications that process, transform, aggregate, or serve significant data volumes.
- Experience building scalable, reliable production applications and backend services for data-rich interactive applications.
- Understanding of data modeling, aggregation, filtering, querying, application performance, and service optimization for analytics applications.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and cloud-based application architectures.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, source control, and modern software development practices.
- Strong problem-solving, independent investigation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Working understanding of Agile development methodologies and frameworks.
