Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated technical partner for strategic accounts through architecture reviews, migration planning, hands-on delivery, health reviews, roadmap sessions, incident follow-up, and technical escalations.
- Run scoped onboarding intensives for high-growth startups from intake and success criteria through hands-on execution.
- Lead customer database engagements involving Postgres architecture, performance tuning, and complex data migrations.
- Drive activation, expansion, renewal, and revenue outcomes by connecting technical delivery to customer adoption and account-team efforts.
- Build the Forward Deployed Engineer playbook, including qualification criteria, engagement templates, success metrics, and reference architectures.
- Translate customer friction into prioritized feedback for product and engineering teams.
- Partner with Account Managers and Customer Engineers on engagement handoffs and long-term customer coverage.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in customer-facing forward deployed, solutions, customer, or professional services engineering.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to write production-quality code in customer codebases.
- Deep cloud infrastructure experience, including containers, networking, autoscaling, and running production workloads.
- Deep Postgres and database expertise covering schema design, performance tuning, replication, and production data migrations.
- Fluency with AI tools and sufficient understanding of LLM application architectures to guide customer teams.
- Excellent communication skills across startup founders, enterprise platform teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, operate amid ambiguity, and establish a new function without an existing playbook.
- Commercial understanding of how technical outcomes connect to expansion, renewal, and revenue.
- Preferred experience migrating applications from Heroku, AWS, or other cloud providers to modern platforms.
- Preferred hands-on experience shipping AI and LLM applications, including RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, and inference workloads.
- Prior experience as a first hire or founding member of a new program is preferred.
