Base Salary

$124k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain software components and applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Design and support scalable microservices with attention to performance, resilience, operability, and distributed-systems concerns.
  • Build and maintain GraphQL APIs, including schemas, resolvers, authorization, pagination, error handling, and performance tuning, with REST support as needed.
  • Design, deploy, and operate AWS-based cloud-native solutions using identity management, encryption, networking, monitoring, and deployment patterns.
  • Apply secure coding, CI/CD, code quality, automated security testing, observability, and production reliability practices.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI tools for code generation, refactoring, test creation, debugging, documentation, and incident triage, validating outputs through review and testing.
  • Build AI-ready services and integrations with structured inputs and outputs, schema validation, deterministic processing, idempotency, rate limiting, and safe degradation.
  • Implement secure and responsible AI engineering practices, including injection resistance, sensitive-data protection, telemetry, prompt/version management, and AI quality evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and API-mocking tests.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Production experience developing, debugging, and maintaining Java applications with Spring and Spring Boot.
  • Strong GraphQL experience, including schema-first design, resolver patterns, security, authorization, and performance considerations.
  • Strong AWS experience designing, deploying, and supporting production systems, including services such as ECS/EKS or Kubernetes, Lambda, API Gateway/ALB, S3, RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB, IAM/KMS, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software engineering, including validating and hardening AI-generated code and tests.
  • Working knowledge of AI engineering practices such as structured outputs, AI behavior evaluation, model/tool integration, and secure prompt/input handling.
  • Experience with modern automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing, including CI automation and test reliability.
  • Experience with agile delivery, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and production operations.
  • Preferred experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, actionable alerting, AI tool-calling or agentic workflows, retrieval patterns, structured outputs, automated evaluation, and full-stack development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
