Base Salary

$300k - $350k/yr

Responsibilities

Own complex product features end-to-end, from product concept and UX through backend systems and production launch.
Design and build scalable backend architectures, APIs, asynchronous pipelines, and AI inference workflows.
Lead system design with attention to performance, reliability, extensibility, and failure modes.
Design scalable data models across relational and NoSQL storage systems.
Build polished, performant frontend experiences with React and Next.js.
Partner with Product, Design, GTM, founders, and users to translate needs into technical solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering quality through code reviews and technical guidance.
Influence architecture, tooling, engineering practices, and product and engineering roadmaps.
Occasionally represent engineering decisions externally or act as the CTO’s delegate.

Strong full-stack engineering experience shipping production systems at scale.
Proven ability to independently design and implement end-to-end features.
Excellent system design skills covering APIs, services, data flow, and failure modes.
Strong experience designing data schemas and models for real product use cases.
Hands-on experience with multiple database types, including relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and NoSQL/KV stores such as Redis or Firestore.
Solid backend experience with Node.js and/or Python, including asynchronous workflows and integrations.
Strong frontend skills with React and Next.js and a focus on product quality and performance.
High product intuition and the ability to think in user flows.
Ability to operate with ambiguity and define problems before solving them.
Preferred qualifications include experience with AI-powered or data-heavy products, cloud-native architecture using GCP, serverless systems or containers, real-time UX with asynchronous processing, startups, or large-surface-area features.

Approximately $300k total compensation including base salary, bonus, and equity, with meaningful ownership through equity.

Bay Area preferred with hybrid work allowed; remote work will be considered.
