Staff Verification Engineer

Responsibilities
- Drive the technical strategy and design of a modern quality engineering and verification platform.
- Modernize CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security validation, compliance checks, and non-functional requirements.
- Own delivery pipeline and release automation frameworks for Sumo Logic services.
- Apply AI reasoning and machine learning to optimize pipelines and predict delivery risks.
- Collaborate with and educate engineering teams on verification and automated delivery best practices.
- Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence.
- Partner with engineering leadership on architecture and technical roadmaps.
- Write design documentation and maintain system implementation documentation.
- Participate in on-call operations, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of industry experience leading complex technical projects and cross-team initiatives.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Production coding proficiency in Java, Scala, or Golang.
- Scripting experience with Groovy, Python, or Bash for automation.
- Experience running and tuning JVM workloads at scale.
- Deep experience with quality engineering platforms and large-scale functional testing automation.
- Experience applying AI reasoning, machine learning, and predictive analytics to release processes, testing efficiency, and SDLC risk identification.
- Expertise with Jenkins and complex delivery pipelines, plus build tools such as Make, Gradle, or NPM.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane.
- Advanced understanding of DevSecOps, automated security testing, and policy-as-code.
- Familiarity with agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
