Base Salary
$186k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead complex and ambiguous ML projects within the team’s domain and own technically deep parts of its ML architecture
- Design CI/CD pipelines and deployment architecture for reliable, repeatable, operable ML systems
- Build automated retraining pipelines and monitoring with performance degradation triggers, drift detection, and alerting
- Design real-time and batch feature pipelines for identity resolution, customer segmentation, and predictive models
- Improve model inference latency while controlling infrastructure costs
- Establish SLOs and operational standards, lead incident response and blameless post-mortems, and evaluate MLOps tooling
- Collaborate with Applied Scientists, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other teams to deliver production ML products and features
- Mentor teammates and help establish AI-first development practices using tools such as Claude Code
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production ML systems, including hands-on ML pipeline and infrastructure design
- Experience leading complex or ambiguous ML projects as the directly responsible individual
- Expertise in ML deployment patterns, model serving, feature engineering, and ML monitoring and observability
- Software engineering skills with Python and familiarity with XGBoost, PyTorch, or PySpark
- Experience with cloud-native ML infrastructure, containerization, and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience using AI coding assistants to accelerate engineering workflows
- Experience mentoring teammates, reviewing work, and improving ML system development and operations
