Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices and implement business logic using clean-code and SOLID principles.
- Troubleshoot L2/L3 production issues and perform application and database performance tuning.
- Implement service-to-service communication, fault tolerance, API gateways, configuration management, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Design database tables, indexes, queries, and relationships and optimize database performance.
- Use Claude, Claude Code, or similar AI development tools for requirements analysis, design, coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, reviews, documentation, and security analysis.
- Review and validate AI-generated code for production quality, security, maintainability, performance, and compliance.
- Develop unit and integration tests, perform API testing, participate in code reviews, and reduce technical debt.
- Work with Git, CI/CD, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, deployment, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and developers; participate in architecture discussions and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of experience in backend development.
- Strong Java experience, including Java 8, 11, 17, or 21, object-oriented programming, collections, and multithreading.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL; MongoDB experience is an advantage.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, unit testing, integration testing, API testing, and code reviews.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle and Git.
- Kafka or RabbitMQ experience is preferred.
- Exposure to Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Experience using Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include large-scale enterprise application experience, monolith-to-microservices migration, Kafka and event-driven architecture, and cloud-native application development.
- Strong debugging, analytical, communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
