Base Salary
$130k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain shared frontend infrastructure including the application shell, data layer, routing, authentication, and build and deployment pipeline.
- Evolve the design system into constrained, composable primitives with tokens, documentation, and guardrails.
- Build tooling, agent workflows, and review guardrails for design-to-production delivery.
- Embed permissioning, packaging gates, observability, accessibility, and internationalization into platform primitives.
- Own production health through monitoring, SLOs, and automated ownership routing.
- Package the platform through a versioned component library and scaffolding for new applications and product surfaces.
- Partner with design and product teams and measure success by their ability to ship.
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in React and TypeScript and experience building and operating production web applications.
- Experience owning platform-level frontend work such as design systems, component libraries, build tooling, GraphQL data-layer patterns, or frontend infrastructure used by other engineers.
- Interest in AI-assisted development and building safe rails for agent-generated frontend code.
- A platform mindset focused on enabling other teams and designers to ship independently.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and shaping an evolving team charter.
- Strong communication, product-mindedness, autonomy, and comfort in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Familiarity with production monitoring and performance work, including RUM, SLOs, and error budgets, is preferred.
- Experience collaborating deeply with designers through design tokens, Figma workflows, and Storybook-driven development is preferred.
