Responsibilities
- Design and build usable internal design tools and automations with TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and Figma plugin and REST APIs.
- Build and maintain MCP servers, context pipelines, and integrations connecting the design system to AI coding agents.
- Implement governance-as-code through CI checks, release automation, and policy enforcement.
- Evaluate, integrate, license, and govern AI tools in partnership with security and legal teams.
- Create telemetry and dashboards measuring design-system and AI-tool adoption, cycle time, and quality.
- Develop reusable prompts, templates, specifications, and starter kits for consistent AI-assisted work.
- Set tooling and operations standards, lead platform initiatives, and mentor designers and engineers.
Requirements
- Approximately 5–8 years of experience in design engineering, frontend engineering, design-system tooling, platform engineering, or internal-tools engineering.
- Strong UX instincts and frontend fundamentals including HTML, CSS, and practical design judgment.
- Strong engineering ability with TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python, APIs, CI/CD, and integrations.
- Organizational-level Figma experience, including familiarity with its plugin and REST APIs.
- A track record of improving design or product-team workflows through tooling and automation.
- Hands-on fluency with AI tooling and a responsible approach to workplace AI governance.
- Experience or familiarity with MCP servers, AI integration infrastructure, AI tool governance, design tokens, Code Connect, Angular/TypeScript, CSS custom properties, dashboards, telemetry, or enterprise design environments is preferred.
- Strong ownership, product mindset, communication, and senior individual-contributor leadership skills.
