Responsibilities
- Assist in leading software development projects through the phase-gate process.
- Write significant amounts of code that meet project requirements and documentation and design standards.
- Create standard documentation translating project needs into software design specifications.
- Assist in developing overall architecture for software systems.
- Correct defects identified through QA software testing and systems testing.
- Assist with requirements gathering and product definition activities.
- Support field test personnel after development.
- Coach other engineers and occasionally provide direction to testing and lab support personnel.
- Contribute to oversight and review of software team work product.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree and 5–8 years of experience.
- Candidates without a degree may qualify with 9–12 years of combined education and equivalent work experience.
- Requires advanced knowledge of the job area obtained through advanced education and work experience.
- Experience leading projects or research of moderate complexity and coaching or reviewing lower-level professionals is relevant.
