Responsibilities
- Guide an immediate team of software engineers on daily work, collaboration, practices, and output expectations.
- Design and deliver secure, stable, scalable technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions.
- Anticipate cross-team dependencies, coordinate delivery, and manage stakeholder relationships against business requirements, compliance standards, and service-level agreements.
- Lead adoption of automation, continuous delivery, software development lifecycle practices, and application resiliency standards.
- Drive responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and delivery tools, including validation, secure data handling, governance, and reusable practices.
- Design, debug, and support distributed applications, databases, web services, messaging systems, and large-scale software platforms.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training or certification and 12+ years of applied experience.
- Experience leading technology projects and working at code level across the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery, software development lifecycle practices, UNIX, SQL, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Advanced understanding of application resiliency, security, and agile software engineering practices.
- Deep expertise in core Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, MQ, Oracle, Postgres, Dapr, Flink, Kafka, and Apache Iceberg.
- Experience designing distributed applications and managing databases, web services, Oracle DDL/DML, stored procedures, and Selenium test automation.
- Practical cloud-native experience and the ability to debug complex systems and lead technical discussions independently.
- Experience leading responsible adoption of AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including defining review and validation practices, measuring outcomes, and handling sensitive data securely.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, resiliency and security implications, governance expectations, and coaching engineers on compliant usage.
- Preferred experience with large-scale systems and the financial services industry, plus education or expertise in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technology disciplines.
