Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable Java microservices and user interfaces for Disney’s advertising platform.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver user-centric advertising features.
- Translate user stories into engineering tasks and own work from development through deployment.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, documentation, and informal guidance without direct reports.
- Implement metrics, monitoring, and alerting to improve system observability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support operational excellence.
- Promote code quality, automated testing, and agile engineering practices.
- Use automated AI tools in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- 9–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Java and related frameworks, including Spring Boot and ORM technologies.
- Experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
- Strong experience with relational databases, including MySQL and Postgres, with schema and query design.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding platforms.
- Preferred: experience with Spring Boot and related Spring projects.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, SNS, or SQS.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
