Responsibilities
- Read AV system drawings and gather programming requirements.
- Create control modules, control code, user interfaces, and touch-panel designs.
- Install control programs onsite, offsite, and remotely.
- Mentor Associate Programmers and review and validate their work.
- Commission and acceptance-test code, test integrated systems, and troubleshoot complex system problems.
- Demonstrate completed systems to clients and create end-user and programming documentation.
- Maintain and update programming code in installed systems and version-control repositories.
- Use a DevOps platform to track issues, deploy releases, and collaborate on projects.
- Travel to various job sites and support changing team and organizational priorities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience as an AVI-SPL Associate Programmer or three years of similar experience outside AVI-SPL.
- Proficiency with test and calibration equipment, programming languages, embedded-system software uploads and downloads, and control-system design.
- Experience with Crestron, AMX, Extron, and QSC control systems.
- Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems, configure and optimize AV equipment, and troubleshoot computer networks.
- Crestron CTI-P201 or AMX Control Programmer Associate certification or equivalent.
- Crestron Technician Fundamentals (CTI-CTF) or equivalent.
- AVIXA Essentials of AV Technology or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, legal authorization to drive for business purposes, and required vehicle insurance when operating vehicles for work.
- Preferred formal education in Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred CTS certification and experience with C#, JavaScript, Lua, Python, HTML-5, PowerShell, Git, and enterprise video-conferencing solutions including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Cisco WebEx.
