Base Salary

$145k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop production-ready automation and AI-supported systems for web and edge security processes.
  • Transform manual security workflows into scalable services, APIs, pipelines, and self-service capabilities.
  • Build vulnerability-response automation, including AI-assisted analysis, WAF rule creation, validation, regression testing, and secure deployment.
  • Automate vulnerability intelligence, control coverage, policy lifecycle, configuration drift, and control-effectiveness measurement.
  • Create abstractions and integrations for multiple WAF vendors.
  • Build evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted security workflows and measure correctness, consistency, behavioral drift, and false-positive and false-negative rates.
  • Partner with security architects and product teams to translate security requirements into reusable engineering capabilities.
  • Contribute to architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation, and mentoring.
  • Identify appropriate uses for AI and automation while retaining human security judgment where needed.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, or security automation, including shipped production code.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or a comparable programming language.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating production services, APIs, or automation systems at scale.
  • Experience with observability, reliability measurement, controlled rollout and rollback, and ownership of production failures.
  • Strong systems-design judgment and ability to make risk-based build-versus-integrate decisions.
  • Solid understanding of web, application, and edge security.
  • Experience developing AI/LLM-assisted systems or applying structured outputs, evaluation, regression testing, and human-in-the-loop controls to production workflows.
  • Ability to work independently on unstructured problems and make defensible decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: production experience with LLM-integrated or agentic systems, agent orchestration, prompt/context engineering, or autonomous multi-step workflows.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS WAF, Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, or ModSecurity/CRS.
  • Preferred: understanding of HTTP parsing, normalization, protocol edge cases, request smuggling, header ambiguity, and WAF efficacy.
  • Preferred: experience with EPSS, CISA KEV, and CVSS vulnerability intelligence data.
  • Preferred: experience building self-service security capabilities or platform tooling adopted by other teams.

Benefits

  • U.S. base pay range is $144,800–$261,450 annually, varying by geographic market, location, skills, and experience.
  • Washington base pay range is $170,900–$247,550 annually.
  • Non-sales roles may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Plan and certain roles may receive long-term incentive equity awards.
