Base Salary

$166k - $258k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate batch and orchestrated data pipelines connecting the SaaS planning application with Nordstrom enterprise systems, the data warehouse, and downstream consumers.
  • Enable, configure, and extend SaaS merchandise, assortment, item planning, and forecasting workflows in partnership with vendors and business stakeholders.
  • Develop curated datasets, semantic models, analytics, and reporting using BigQuery and Looker.
  • Own data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, alerting, validation, and observability for the integration platform.
  • Design, develop, ship, evaluate, and monitor AI agents supporting merchandise planning with human-in-the-loop guardrails.
  • Collaborate with engineering, business, program, product, merchandising, finance, and supply chain teams on technical decisions and priorities.
  • Assist engineering managers with software and data strategy, architecture, planning, and solution definition.
  • Break down cross-functional systems and designs into tasks for more junior engineers and help them adopt AI-enabled development tools.
  • Participate in production support, rotating 24/7 shifts, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Apply engineering practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, testing, cloud migration, and performance testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience delivering quality software, with a strong focus on data and integration engineering.
  • Hands-on experience building batch and orchestrated pipelines with Apache Airflow, Python, and Apache Spark.
  • Proficiency with BigQuery, SQL, and data modeling for curated datasets, schemas, transformations, analytics, and reporting.
  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating third-party and SaaS applications through APIs, files, and events.
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS planning or supply chain platforms such as Toolio, O9, Anaplan, or Blue Yonder is preferred.
  • Experience developing analytics, dashboards, and reporting, ideally with Looker or a comparable business intelligence platform.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud services such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and deployment practices.
  • Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
  • Proficiency with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL, plus familiarity with MongoDB and Redis.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, system design, architecture, scaling, and performance testing skills for data-intensive systems.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with analysts, testers, product managers, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals; merchandise planning, assortment planning, item planning, demand forecasting, or fashion retail knowledge is a strong plus.
